Stronger Together: How We Built a Healthy, Thriving Relationship

At McCreadys Empower You, we’ve learned that healthy relationships require constant attention, self-discipline, and mutual respect. For us, maintaining a strong connection has meant prioritising our individual well-being through daily routines, discipline, and setting clear boundaries.

1. Morning Routines: Our Personal Foundations

Each morning, we start the day by focusing on practices that help us show up as our best selves. Wendy's routine includes cardio, mobility exercises, affirmations, and rehab work to maintain her physical health and mental clarity. Kay, on the other hand, integrates breathwork meditation, cardio, cold water therapy, and dancing or shaking to align her energy and sharpen her focus.

These rituals help us cultivate inner strength and emotional balance, allowing us to bring our best selves into our relationship each day.

2. Thursdates: Prioritising Each Other

In our busy lives, it’s easy to get caught up in work, family, and external demands. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to carve out dedicated time for each other. Our ‘Thursdates’ are a weekly tradition where we set aside the entire day to reconnect, away from distractions.

This intentional time allows us to deepen our bond, discuss our goals, and simply enjoy each other's presence, helping us stay aligned in both our personal and shared journeys.

3. Boundaries: Protecting Our Energy

Healthy relationships also require clear boundaries, and we’ve both learned to set them—not only with each other but with family, friends, and outside commitments. It’s about protecting our energy and making sure that we’re not stretching ourselves too thin. By saying no when necessary, we create more space to focus on what truly matters—our relationship and personal growth.

4. Commitment to Health and Vitality

One of the key strengths of our relationship is our shared commitment to health. Wendy trains 5 to 6 times a week, while Kay trains 3 times a week. We both focus on a nutrient-rich diet, avoiding processed foods, and incorporating the right supplements to support our bodies and hormone health. By holding each other accountable and encouraging one another to stay consistent, we’ve created a strong foundation built on mutual respect for each other’s well-being.

Whether we’re working out or planning healthy meals together, our shared goals keep us aligned, ensuring that we both thrive individually and as a couple. This partnership in health is not just about physical fitness; it’s about creating balance and vitality in our lives, which strengthens our relationship from the inside out.

5. Mindset Mastery: Growing Together

A healthy relationship thrives when both partners are committed to their own personal growth. We’ve both worked on mastering our mindsets, rewiring limiting beliefs, processing our emotions and embracing growth. By constantly evolving as individuals, we bring a fresh perspective to our relationship, supporting and encouraging each other to reach new heights.

Our relationship isn’t built on dependency—it’s built on empowerment. We’ve created a partnership where we uplift one another and inspire growth, without relying on the other for validation or self-worth.

Conclusion: A Journey of Empowerment

Building a healthy relationship requires daily work, commitment, and self-care. At McCreadys Empower You, we’re not just teaching these principles—we’re living them. From our morning routines and weekly ‘Thursdates’ to setting strong boundaries and prioritising our health, we’ve built a relationship rooted in balance, love, and mutual growth.

We invite you to join us on this journey of empowerment. By doing the inner work, setting clear boundaries, and prioritising your well-being, you can create the foundation for a thriving relationship—just as we have.

Here’s to lasting love, balance, and personal empowerment—together.
